Join us Friday, February 16th, 5-8pm for a FREE wine tasting!

Catena Alta 2014 Chardonnay, Mendoza: Bodega Catena Zapata has been at the forefront of science and researched-based viticulture in Argentina since the 1990s. Their winemaking team has done in-depth investigations into the soil health and composition, and yields of their different high-altitude vineyards. The Catena Alta Chardonnay is produced using fruit from their Adrianna vineyard (5,000 feet elevation) and Domingo vineyard (3,700 feet). The blending of the fruit from these two very distinct vineyards gives this wine the ideal balance of ripe stone fruit and racy acidity and minerality. 100% barrel fermentation in French oak with frequent lees stirring (Battonage). Pair with seared scallops and brown butter sauce.

Round Pond 2015 Kith & Kin Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley: Kith & Kin is Old English for “friends and family.” Indeed, this wine illustrates a picture of a family’s warm embrace, with aromas of saddle leather, sweet French oak, and cherry pie. the 2015 growing season was optimal, with perfect ripening conditions, producing beautifully concentrated fruit. Food-wise, this wine calls for something comforting. Try a good barbecued steak with sautéed mushrooms and whipped potatoes (don’t forget the butter!).

Frog’s Leap 2014 Napa Valley Merlot: Frog’s Leap has been making Merlot since 1990. The vines are dry-farmed and grow in cool clay soil, their roots growing ever deeper in search for water, thereby accessing different nutrients as the plant grows older. The wine offers deep aromas, of sun warmed red fruit, followed by a silky texture and notes of bramble berries. Pair with roast chicken and wild mushrooms.
